12.The goal is citizenship.

From then on, my parents reluctantly left to help out in the village. It seems he wanted to avoid being banished from the village. But when he came back from helping out, he had a very grumpy look on his face. He must have said something.

I thought it would be hard to hit me, but it changed to a completely ignoring attitude instead. I guess what he said the other day was really true, he treated me like I wasn’t there and seemed to be waiting for me to escape from here.

This is fine. It’s easier to ignore than to get hurt, it just doesn’t feel good. My parents are like children, and it’s pathetic to watch.

It might be better to see the timing and move from here to another place before any harm is done. Thirteen refugees just left here the other day, so I think there are some empty houses left. Could you let me live there?

I immediately consulted with the women.

“You want to move away from your parents and live in a different place? Well, yes, it is possible, but… in the current situation, you won’t be able to get the approval of those around you.”

“There’s no real damage right now. I think it’s impossible.”

“But if something happens, I’ll talk to you. In that case, I’ll negotiate with you so that you can use another empty house.”

“I understand.

It’s a pity that it wasn’t good. However, I was relieved to receive such reassuring words. Next time I’m in danger, I’ll feel free to consult with you… Trust is really important, isn’t it? It’s a huge difference compared to before I helped.

It’s a decision to leave my parents someday, but I have to think about what I will do if I leave. What am I going to do away from my parents?

The first is to get rid of the refugees. I can’t live forever on distribution alone, or rather, I don’t want to live on that alone. This is what every refugee thinks.

I want to live somewhere other than here, yes in a town. Refugees are not qualified to live in towns and cannot rent or buy houses. If we don’t get out of the refugees, living in the city will end up as a dream.

How do I get citizenship to live in the town? If it’s something I can think of, so can other refugees. I suspect that the people who received their morning rations went to work in the city in order to obtain that citizenship.

If that’s the case, maybe I should go into town to work while receiving my morning ration. If I’m not mistaken, children should be going to town, so I think there are job openings. You may be working to get citizenship while saving money that way.

……Will you answer me if I ask? It’s okay now, you can’t say no like before. Uu, when I thought about asking, I became uneasy.

Eeeee, show your courage. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll have to work harder to gain more trust. That’s right, you can’t give up because you failed once.

I mustered up the courage to speak to him. Talk to other refugees and ask if anyone is getting their morning rations that they haven’t been to town today. Then I was able to reach a woman.

“excuse me”

“Oh, what happened?”

When I visited the house, he appeared with a strange face. She doesn’t have any sense of disgust and treats me normally, which seems to be good.

“I want to stop being a refugee and live in a town.

“That’s right. It’s okay, I’ll tell you if it’s okay with me. Come on in the house.”

Yay, you can talk to me! When she was happy and smiled, the woman answered with a smile. When she entered the house, the floor was covered with mats, and there were even small chairs and tables on top of it. Amazing, even though they are the same refugee, their houses are completely different.

When asked to sit on a chair, I cautiously sit down. It was a hard wooden chair, but I was impressed. The woman also speaks as soon as she sits on the chair.

“First of all, you need citizenship to live in a town. There are two ways to obtain citizenship. First, you can buy citizenship with money, and this is buying citizenship with money from the lord. That’s all. The other thing is to become a B-rank adventurer, and once you become a B-rank, anyone can live in the town. This is a way to get high-rank adventurers to live in the town. Are you listening?”

I see, there are two ways to obtain citizenship: buy it with money or become a B-rank adventurer.

“By the way, you need 400,000 Ruta to live in the town closest to here. Also, the money you need varies depending on the town. If you just move, the money you need will be much cheaper. I’ve heard that before.”

400,000 ruta, I don’t know at all if it’s expensive or cheap. It seems that normal immigration also costs money, but why is it cheaper than refugees? For whatever reason, it seems like a rule to be disadvantaged when you become a refugee.

“Some refugees have already bought citizenship.”

“Eh, why don’t you live in town?”

“That’s because I don’t have enough money to live in the town. I have to pay the rent, buy furniture and tools, and even have food. That’s why I endure being a refugee and living on a daily basis until I find a regular job. There are people working for

Some people have already obtained citizenship, wow. But I don’t think you can live in town with just citizenship. Well, there are many other things you need besides citizenship. It doesn’t mean you get citizenship and that’s it.

“It’s a way to earn money, but refugees register as adventurers and undertake jobs.”

“Are all women and children registered as adventurers?”

“Yeah, I’m contracted for daily labor from the guild. There are various jobs for adults, children, men and women.”

Well, everyone is making money by signing up as an adventurer and undertaking various jobs. Moreover, it seems that there are a wide range of jobs, so I should work for children. After hearing the story, I knew what I should do.

“Then I need to go to the guild and register as an adventurer.”

“Yes. But before that, I have something to do.”

“Before registering as an adventurer, huh?”

What kind of things do you need to do if you can’t register as an adventurer right away? She stared at the woman curiously, and the woman clapped her hands in shock.

“That’s right, I won’t go to town until tomorrow. I’ll explain there.”

I jumped at the offer. I was really glad that he was a kind person to go to the site and explain it. I wonder if it’s going to be a step towards refugee refugees?

  1. Thanks for the translation, and I think the MC’s name is Riru, can you retranslate it to that? Cause gets confusing if it’s Lil, and this one is cuter.

    • thanks for the comment, first i kinda confused between “Lil-chan” or “Riru-chan” for MC name, but after i check it again the katakana was “リル” it mean “Riru” and in japanese “L” and “R” dont have exactly pronounce in english, and if we use this term MC name can be “Liru” or “Rilu”

i will stick with “Lil” or “Lil-chan” until the manga release later,
but “Lil” or “Lil-chan” kinda cute for nickname for me and easy to remember, so i will change it later if the manga release later, thank for the opinion man
